What is the Eclipse Foundation?
Eclipse is an open source community, whose projects are focused on building an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle. The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit, member supported corporation that hosts the Eclipse Projects and helps cultivate both an open source community and an ecosystem of complementary products and services.
The Platform for the New Network
Juniper has a strong ecosystem of software developers building solutions on Junos products. Many use the Eclipse IDE to create these solutions, and by joining the Eclipse Foundation, Juniper will be better able to provide customers and partners with a comprehensive and robust development environment for building network applications. In addition, developers that are new to Junos products but familiar with the Eclipse IDE will be able to jump-start building solutions with little ramp-up time.
The Junos Space SDK & Eclipse
- Using the Junos Space SDK through the Eclipse IDE gives developers access to rich network data and events that can be used to build synergies and intelligent solutions, all without a need to create additional software tools and interfaces.
- By using the Junos Space SDK with the Eclipse IDE, developers now have the ability to focus on solutions rather than the development of complex foundation interfaces. Developers can either create applications to exploit new opportunities for smarter use of network data and operations, or integrate the Junos Space SDK to the existing applications to augment the overall value of the solution.
