Class in the Cloud

Junosphere Classroom

Juniper Networks today announced a unique service offered from their Junosphere cloud.  Junosphere Classroom enables you to cost-effectively educate students, and employees, on the Junos OS, routing protocols, and networking in general.

The Junosphere Classroom allows you to create virtual networking labs that provide students with full hands-on access to Juniper’s state-of-the-art commercial networking technology, without the expense of building or maintaining your own physical lab.  This cloud based service highlights Juniper’s push further into a software based business model and also promotes their single JUNOS operating system strategy across every facet of the network.

Junosphere Classroom offers a range of flexible, on-demand or onetime payment options that enable you to rapidly scale resources and costs up or down based on your needs.

What is the Eclipse Foundation?

Eclipse Open Source Juniper

What is the Eclipse Foundation?

Eclipse is an open source community, whose projects are focused on building an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle. The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit, member supported corporation that hosts the Eclipse Projects and helps cultivate both an open source community and an ecosystem of complementary products and services.

The Platform for the New Network

Juniper has a strong ecosystem of software developers building solutions on Junos products. Many use the Eclipse IDE to create these solutions, and by joining the Eclipse Foundation, Juniper will be better able to provide customers and partners with a comprehensive and robust development environment for building network applications. In addition, developers that are new to Junos products but familiar with the Eclipse IDE will be able to jump-start building solutions with little ramp-up time.

The Junos Space SDK & Eclipse

  • Using the Junos Space SDK through the Eclipse IDE gives developers access to rich network data and events that can be used to build synergies and intelligent solutions, all without a need to create additional software tools and interfaces.
  • By using the Junos Space SDK with the Eclipse IDE, developers now have the ability to focus on solutions rather than the development of complex foundation interfaces. Developers can either create applications to exploit new opportunities for smarter use of network data and operations, or integrate the Junos Space SDK to the existing applications to augment the overall value of the solution.
